New PURE 4x4 TUNDRA?
Wishes come true, right? Well, I still haven’t woken up with a new 3rd gen Tundra in my driveway, BUT I did get to see a shiny new one in person!
Last November 2021 we were lucky enough to be accepted to get the first glimpse at the all-new 2022 Toyota Tundra. The two models we saw were pre-production models (Limited with TRD Off-Road package and a 1794 Edition). Even though they were pre-production, they were still a beautiful sight to see. The interior and technology in these things are leaps above the outgoing 2nd generation Tundra and has proven to be a breath of fresh air to all the Tundra fans who have been patiently waiting for a more modern experience.
Fast forward to 2022 and we have before us a production Tundra at the Maita Toyota showroom. Maita has gotten only a few of these Tundra’s and are having a difficult time keeping them in stock. These babies are literally sold as soon as they hit the floor and there doesn’t seem to be any slow down in demand.
This particular Tundra was a Limited with a TRD Off-Road package and seemed to have most of the bells & whistles (minus the 12 inch digital dash). The white paint job was called “Wind Chill Pearl” and couldn’t have been a more fitting name -the pearl on this paint is absolutely gorgeous and definitely expresses a more luxurious aesthetic to the truck.
Unfortunately since it was in the showroom we didn’t have a chance to test drive it, but I’m crossing my fingers that Maita Toyota Marketing Director, Michael Crittenden, will call me one day saying they have one ready for a spin.
