The Ultimate Overlander?

On this fine Wednesday in February of 2022, we decided to make an impromptu trip to pick up the brand new SHIFTPODIII from the SHIFTPOD headquarters in Napa, CA. We've been here several times in the past, and every time, Christian Weber, seems to have a new toy or gadget for us to check out. However, we were not expecting to see this 2002 Steward Stevenson LMTV in his driveway!

The presence it creates at first glance is tremendous. Sitting patiently in the parking lot on 46” tires, you can tell that the thing is ready for whatever you throw at it. I didn’t know too much about LMTV’s (besides in video games), but it was interesting to see some of the military spec stuff on it like the 3rd seat in the cabin for the gunner to access the rooftop mounted 50 cal turret and also the parachute brackets for when these things need to be dropped off by airplane.

After doing a quick walk-around, Christian tells me to “jump up in there” and moments later I found myself driving the thing. Who would’ve known I was going to wake up today and drive an LMTV lol.

Anyway, we secured Jordan’s new ShiftPod and got back to Sacramento safely. Thanks again to Christian and the rest of SHIFTPOD for having us! Good times and can’t wait to see thing at Basecamp 4.0!
