Wekfest LA 2021
It’s been a whole two years since we’ve been able to attend a legit car show. Show season is back for California and it has kicked off rightfully so in the City of Angels. Wekfest has been around for over a decade and still continues to be a premier destination for true enthusiasts and fans alike. There aren’t too many shows worth traveling for, yet the Wekfest tour continues to be one of them.
The pandemic hit in 2020 and all the PURE VIP show cars were forced to hibernation. It is in our blood to mod, so the pandemic actually evolved us to focus on the off-roading segment and in just about a years time we’ve heavily built a number of trucks that we enjoy exploring and camping in. Wekfest LA ‘21 allowed us to bring both our VIP and 4x4 builds under one roof. You will see that our builds will still have hints of JDM inspiration and this is a reflection of our long-time roots in the scene.
We had a total of 5 VIP cars and 8 4x4’s in our line up: Nasty’s’ Lexus LS460, Johnne’s Job Design BMW E60, Porky’s E46 M3, Chris’ Toyota Crown, Kekoa’s Scion XB, Jason’s Toyota Tundra, Luong’s Toyota Tacoma (2G), Ryan’s Toyota Tacoma (3G), Laurence’s Toyota Tacoma (3G), Tommy’s Lexus GX470, Ged’s Lexus GX460, Chris’ Toyota Tacoma (3G), and J-Matt’s Lexus GX460. Our NorCal chapter made the 6 hour trek down from Sacramento without any hiccups minus the hole that ridiculous gas prices left in our pockets. Our Vegas chapter showed up late and made a mess at our booth (JK ha ha <3). While our SoCal chapter, mainly from Orange County, showed us all the hospitality and good eats over the weekend -thank you!
The show itself seemed like a success even with the Covid restrictions still lingering. We were able to meet a lot of our old friends and a ton of new faces at our booth. Thank you all for stopping by and supporting the PURE movement. All the items we sold at the show will now be available here on our site.
